Moonlight Ride I  (2017)
Oil on canvas 16x20 in.
Collection of the artist

This painting is formatted behind a mid-20th century family photo matte I found to use as a stencil, then I filled in the space with hemlock and other forms. It is called Moonlight Ride because of a photo I took in 2016 of the great harvest moon. A truck went by and left the footprint of a headlight turned to tail light, which is seen here in  the unifying element of a white to red line through the bottom quarter of the work.
